In the fourth quarter of 2022, the top communication apps on the Android platform in Italy showed diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users, according to Sensor Tower data.

Telegram saw a consistent increase in weekly revenue, starting at around $1.2K at the beginning of October and rising to approximately $2.2K by the end of December. Weekly downloads experienced fluctuations, peaking at 43.8K in late October and closing the quarter at 41.3K. Active users presented a declining trend, starting from 7.5M in late September and dropping to 7.3M by the end of December.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a steady download rate, with a notable peak of 46.1K in the last week of December. Active users remained stable throughout the quarter, averaging around 21.3M, with a slight increase to 21.5M in mid-December.

Messenger from Meta Platforms, Inc. showed a relatively stable revenue trend, starting at around $514 and ending at $634 weekly. Downloads saw a significant increase towards the end of the quarter, from 23.8K in late September to 33.2K in the last week of December. However, active users demonstrated a slight decline, from 11.9M in late September to 11.6M by the end of December.

Brave Private Web Browser, VPN had a modest revenue performance, with weekly earnings fluctuating between $7 and $85. Downloads peaked at 34.6K in early November but declined to 17.9K by the end of December. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 370K.

Snapchat experienced a minor increase in revenue, starting at $170 and ending at $197 weekly. Downloads showed significant growth, peaking at 39.8K in the final week of December. Active users also saw an upward trend, increasing from 3.1M in late September to 3.3M by the end of December.
